Estancia El Corcovado is considered by most, THE premier fly-fishing destination and is located in beautiful Patagonia, Argentina. This expansive property has two lodges – “La Caridad” and the working Ranch Headquarters, named “Estancia Tecka” due to its location by the Tecka River bend.

“Tecka Lodge”, the working ranch headquarters building, offers a more sober experience for those seeking a taste of traditional Patagonian ranch life. This Lodge was originally built in the 1920’s by British immigrants that imported most of Argentina’s cattle breeds. This lodge features four large bedrooms each with ensuite, spacious granite bathrooms. As you approach the lodge over rolling hills, you’ll be struck by the beautifully manicured grounds nestled within towering Poplar trees and surrounded by equine and sheep paddocks. charming guest rooms with simple, comfortable furnishings and a cozy communal living area with a fireplace. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the working ranch, watch the gauchos in action, and experience a unique part of Patagonian culture.

The lodge offer exclusive fishing access to 70 kilometers of the Corcovado River that flows through our property, as well as several natural lakes and lagoons. We’re proud to operate in an environmentally green way, as we produce our own energy from the Corcovado River.

The Fishing

There are many lodges and many outfitters that offer great fishing; not to mention the numerous independent guides that fish all the public rivers of central Patagoania. The unique feature that Estancia El Corcovado offers is the unparalleled fishing experience with its vast 400,000+ acre property and 96 miles of private waters that are private and inaccessible to anyone else. The property boasts a diverse range of fishing spots, including the Corcovado and Tecka rivers, numerous spring creeks and natural lagoons that flow throughout the expansive land. The exclusive access to these private waters ensures that the fishing is always spectacular and never over-fished, making it an ideal paradise for experienced anglers from around the world. Fish all day every day, while never crossing another angler and never leave the property! Miles and miles of private land and waters, available just for you and your family and friends. Patagonia is renowned for its world-class fly fishing and Estancia El Corcovado is the perfect example. What sets this sheep and cattle working ranch apart from others in the area is the exclusive access miles of private trout waters, an exclusive feature that cannot be found anywhere else. The Corcovado River flows through the property, providing a habitat for Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout. The river is primarily fished from drift boats, but wading can be done in the freestone flats and banks. The smaller Rio Tecka, a major spring creek, requires delicate bank fishing with various dry fly patterns that result in exciting strikes and large fish. The property also features other spring creeks that offer a challenging test for any angler, along with some lagoons that harbor great fish. With a diverse range of landscapes and rivers, Estancia El Corcovado is the ultimate destination for trout fishing in Patagonia.

A day at Estancia El Corcovado

While Estancia El Corcovado is renowned for its fly-fishing, there is so much more to discover beyond the river banks. Come down and witness the breathtaking sunsets that transform the skies into an incredible panorama.

The ranch is also home to a diverse native wildlife such as gray and red foxes, armadillos, guanacos, and the majestic Andean condor.

Additionally, you can indulge in a delicious feast of local grass-fed meat and merino lamb barbecue, cooked in a water wheel-driven rotisserie by the riverside, prepared by our chef who specializes in authentic Argentine cuisine.

After a long day of fishing, gather by the open fire pit, sip on your drink, and watch the stars twinkle in the pristine Patagonia night sky before enjoying a traditional Argentine dish

Once you arrive in Buenos Aires, you must transfer to the domestic airport, Jorge Newbery, and take a direct flight (2.5 hours) to the city of Esquel in the province of Chubut. There is one flight per day except on Tuesdays. Aerolineas Argentinas usually departs from the domestic airport at 2 PM.
